Student Interviews

Focusing on laws, I am studying how to combine strong security with a good working environment for employees.

Concerns that trying to protect information security with technology alone is going too far

Since high school, I have been interested in "how to deal with new information technologies in law," and I studied "Information Law" at university. After graduation, I went to a graduate school, but it was mainly focused on technical research. I felt that there is a concern that information security can go too far, if the management and operation of the technology is not carefully considered. At that time, a professor from my previous university introduced me to this graduate school. I was interested in studying a wide range of subjects including management and law.

Creating a concept that successfully balances corporate data retention and employee data protection

My research will focus on the possibility of creating a concept and mechanism that successfully balances corporate data retention and employee data protection. I want to broaden my horizons by studying a well-balanced curriculum, including "Law and Ethics in Information Security," which considers information security from a wide range of perspectives, including law, economics and history. Ultimately, I would like to put all the knowledge together in a dissertation from a legal perspective in my field of expertise.

Hear real stories about what's happening in the world today from teachers and working students

Since I do not have any working experience, it is interesting for me to attend practical lectures by faculty members who have worked in companies. Also, many of IISEC students are currently working. By listening to each person's experience in the discussion, I can understand how information security is perceived, managed and operated in today's companies.
