ISS Square
Highly Professional Information Security Training Programme integrated with Research and Practical Operations
ISS Square is the highly professional information security training programme adopted by the Ministry of Education、Culture、Sports、Science and Technology in 2007. This programme has been carried out by industry-academia partnerships with our institute, Chuo University, the National Institute of Informatics, and 11 other companies and research institutes.
The programme provides lectures that cover cryptography/authentication, networks, systems, software, management, and laws/ethics, as well as internships, tours, and omnibus lectures by experts, allowing participants to understand real-world situation and problems in management and R&D. Through the activities in research seminars and cross-cutting workshops, participants will acquire high-level problem finding and solving skills.
ISS Square symposium is held at the end of each academic year as the culmination of the ISS Square activities where partner companies evaluate research accomplishments. The Information Security Specialist Certificate is awarded to those who complete the programme. Since it started in 2008, more than 130 students from our institute have received the certificate and many students, including mature students, participate in this programme every year.
