Students will investigate and analyse academic or real-world problems, propose solutions, evaluate their implementation, and summarise them in the style of an academic paper. Students will also be able to develop a piece of software related to safety and security and submit it as part of a Master's dissertation, along with the design specifications and source code.

Message from the Course Leader

Prof. Takao Okubo
Whilst building safe and secure devices, and systems are essential in the IT sector, it is also beneficial for other sectors, including control systems, embedded systems, and IoT. Making the device/system itself secure is both an essential solution and a desired technology for the industry. At the same time, however, it is an area where standardisation is lagging behind and is still in its infancy. We are looking forward to welcoming students with a desire to challenge themselves in an untapped field that will benefit society.
