Profile

Professor Fujimoto received her Master's degree in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1993. She then earned a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2000. She became a visiting researcher at GLOCOM. She also engaged in research and consulting on information security and medical information system services at MS&AD InterRisk Research & Consulting, Inc. and Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. She then became a visiting professor at IISEC in 2004-2018, and at University of Tsukuba in 2007-2017. She is a committee member for government agencies, such as Cabinet Office Cybersecurity Strategic Headquarters (public awareness and human resource development research committee), Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (information and communication council), and National Research and Development Agency. She also gives a number of lectures for companies and organisations. She is also a member of the Japan Society of Security Management (JSSM) and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ). She also received the Information and Communication Technology International Strategy Bureau Director's Award from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in 2009.
